It doesn´t really matter what you think about what I am going to tell you. I believe in it – that´s enough for me.

My dad died from cancer this january. It has been hard. He never believed me when I told him that my grandfather came to visit me, about 10 or so years after his death. After my mother died, 16 years ago, she came to see me within the two next weeks. I have been hoping that my dad would come see me too, but he hasn´t. Most likely because he doesn´t know how.

However. Last week, I noticed a couple of times there was a bird sitting just outside my kitchen window – which is quite something since I live on the third floor. I found it curious it was there, especially twice, but didn´t think of it much more.

Today, I brought Ella back to Kopparlunden where we´ve been before. When we sat down for a break (ie; for me to smoke), a bird sat down on the roof of a car just beside us. It was very talkative, this bird, and then it jumped down to the ground and kept talking – loudly. It even sat down on the bench with us for a while.

I am so curious if it was dad. The thing is; the bird reminds very strongly about the birds he used to paint (water colour). His were black and white – this was black and gray. But still – pretty much the same bird.

I don´t know. I really don´t know. But to me, it felt like my dad was at least trying to communicate.

Anyway; this is the handpicked result from today´s photographic adventure.

Enjoy! 🙂

I am Sonya Malinka Persson. To me, photography is among the most beautiful things. There is such visual poetry in it if you know how to look.

Enjoy my work. 🙂
