In Sweden, we’re on the edge between fall and winter. It’s getting colder, and the signs that winter is coming closer are more frequent. Sometimes, it looks like the icing on a cake. It’s beautiful, although I personally prefer the earlier fall.
Every year for the last X number of years, I’ve made a special Christmas photograph to share in social media. Last year, due to my dad’s cancer (he died in January) I didn’t manage to bring up the energy to do anything special. This year, I am in better shape (although still mourning my dad), and I intend to make something nice to share.
So – I started going outside to see if I could capture something Christmas-like for this year. So far, the results has been disappointing when it comes to the Christmas part. The aesthetics and me-feel to them – I couldn’t be happier. Nature has a way to deliver pure beauty even as things fall dead to the ground. Mankind, I believe, cannot really create beauty to that degree. Oh, and in photography, I love the black and white (had you guessed?) and the high contrast that you see in these shots.
What do you enjoy in photography?
